Flowerdale Estate – Wedding Photography by Rick Liston + Co

Flowerdale Estate on Broadford-Flowerdale Road in Strath Creek is a venue that surprises people. The long, picturesque driveway sets the tone — and then you arrive and realise what’s been hiding up here in the hills all along. After 20+ weddings at Flowerdale, it remains one of the most distinctive and beautifully maintained venues we shoot at anywhere in the region.

The grounds are immaculate — expertly maintained gardens, a ceremony lawn that’s consistently described by vendors and guests alike as “meticulous,” and a sprawling estate that offers something different around every corner. The wide open fields and rolling hills give us extraordinary room to work with: long lens portraits with the landscape stretching endlessly behind you, golden hour sessions with the last light catching the ridgeline, and those wide open countryside shots that you genuinely can’t get at a tighter venue. The resident animals — horses, sheep, the occasional pig — are a bonus that never gets old. As one celebrant who works here put it, “every corner of the estate offered another incredible photo opportunity.”

What couples who’ve been married here all seem to come back to is the team. Coordinators Grace and Demmi earn a mention in reviews with striking regularity, described as “on another level of professionalism and organisation.” And the food — one couple called it “next level, absolutely mouth-watering.” The little touches matter here too: one couple arrived in their suite after the reception to find their wedding cake waiting for them. That’s the kind of detail that makes Flowerdale special.

What couples say about Rick Liston + Co at Flowerdale Estate

“When I walked into Flowerdale Estate for the very first time, I saw a beautiful photo hanging on the wall and instantly knew I wanted that photographer for my wedding — and Rick it was! Rick gave us a sneak peek the day after the wedding which we were so appreciative of, because we were still trying to catch up with everything that had gone on during the day. Even though we only have a sneak peek, we can already see how beautifully he captured every moment.”
