Flowerdale Estate Wedding of Caitlin and Dave

Tell me about your The Beginning!

We met on placement in a mental health ward in Caitlin’s hometown of Armidale. Caitlin was on her first ever occupational therapy (OT) placement and David was in his last year of medicine. David was impressed (probably also scared) by Caitlin’s enthusiasm for life and learning and we bonded over the planning of an upcoming student party.
Our first real date was a road trip to Sydney but prior to this we started a dinner tradition of pesto pasta that we still love to make to this day.

When and where did you get engaged?

We got engaged in a giraffe treehouse at Jamala in Canberra in December 2020! We had survived our first year of our move to Melbourne basically locked down and had big plans for a road trip to celebrate the end of the year to see all our family and friends across NSW and QLD and got the added bonus of also celebrating our engagement!

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

Our wedding day has a relaxed and rustic theme to it with lots of natural timber, eucalyptus and the natural beauty of our stunning venue.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Seeing each other dressed up and getting married (of course), having all our favourite people together in one space and being able to celebrate with them all after a pretty crazy last few years!

Top Tips!

Pick and book in your top vendors early! For us we knew who and what we wanted to prioritise so made sure to check their availabilities, yes you, Rick, before locking in our date with our venue.
Set aside wedding planning/discussion times/days so that it isn’t all consuming.
Delegate tasks to loved ones, they really appreciate being included and will do a wonderful heart felt job.
Excel spreadsheets/Google sheets are your friend – learn the little formulas and tricks from simple YouTube videos and you’ll be so grateful for it.
