Coombe Yarra Valley – Wedding Photography by Rick Liston + Co

Coombe Yarra Valley, the historic home of Dame Nellie Melba, is one of the most photogenic venues in the region — and after 10+ weddings here, we know every corner of it. Heritage buildings, exquisitely manicured gardens, a light-filled modern reception area, and a dance floor positioned directly beneath a still-functioning clock tower. It’s a venue that, as one couple described it, “doesn’t require endless additions to dress it up and give it warmth and personality — the whole place is immaculate.”

Walking the Coombe grounds feels like discovering a secret garden, with photo opportunities at every turn. Ceremony options include under the magnificent 180-year-old oak tree, in the Italian garden, or on the lawn in front of Coombe Cottage, with the beautiful Melba Gallery as a wet-weather option that honestly holds its own against the outdoor alternatives. Our personal favourite spot is Dame Nellie’s homestead with its vine-covered outdoor spiral staircase — one of the most beautiful frames in the entire Valley. From there we’ll take you down the avenue of elms or out into the paddocks overlooking the valley.

The Coombe team are consistently singled out in reviews, particularly wedding coordinators like Gemma — described by one couple as “reminding us to breathe and calmly finding solutions even the day before.” When exceptional service, breathtaking scenery and outstanding food come together like this, you really don’t need to look anywhere else.
