Flowerdale Estate Wedding of Jasmine and Tim

Tell me about your The Beginning!
We met at our mutual friend’s pre-drinks before a night on the town. We’re both such shy people that we didn’t say a lot to each other that first night other than “Hi”, but we slowly chatted more once the liquid courage kicked in at subsequent drunken nights out with our friends. Our first “official” date was a few months later at the beach with some KFC (Jas made it known very early on that she loves potato and fast food).

When and where did you get engaged?
In May 2020. Tim organised a picnic in our backyard as we had a couple of special occasions to celebrate: our 7th anniversary and Jasmine’s birthday. It was a really nice autumn day and we were enjoying a cheeseboard with Jasmine’s mum and Keira. Tim said he needed to go inside to make a call and snuck Keira in to change her into a t-shirt that said, “Will you marry my dad?”. When Keira came back outside, Jasmine’s mum saw the shirt first and misread out loud, “Will you marry me, dad?” and squealed. Jasmine turned around to find Tim kneeling on one knee with the ring. It was such a surprise that it took her a while to say yes, which she did after a few tears!

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
We like to keep things plain and simple, and really resonate with the “less is more” motto. And Flowerdale Estate is such a beautiful, natural, and beautiful venue with a relaxed vibe that it really didn’t need too much styling. Keeping that in mind, we worked with Claire from Black Finn to style our wedding and have gone for a minimalist, romantic and neutral palette. Think nude/stone, soft pinks, with toffee and olive green to add some pops of colour and to tie in the bridesmaids’ dresses.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?
It’s hard to pick one part of the day haha. We’re both looking forward to getting with our bridal party and the first looks, saying “I Do”, and seeing so many of our family and friends that we’ve been kept apart from for so long.

Top Tips!
Planning a wedding is stressful enough, add a pandemic in the mix and it can be quite an anxious journey of “will it go ahead, or won’t it?” Lean on your partner for support, enjoy the process, and remind yourselves that it’s going to be an awesome, fun and memorable day regardless of what happens on the day itself. The most important thing is that you have each other and you’re about to marry the love of your life!
