Stones of the Yarra Valley Wedding of Ellen and Adam

Tell me about your The Beginning!

My best friend Steph in 2015, convinced me to download tinder, even though I was really against dating apps. She was like its a fun, dating app and you can swipe left and right and you don’t have to meet up with anyone if you don’t want too. So she downloaded it and created an account for me, and Adam was one of the first people I matched with. We were suppose to meet up one night out in the city as we were both out with our own group of friends, but I kind of blew him off as my friends ended up going out somewhere else. He messaged me again two days later and asked if Id like to go see a movie with him, I said yes and we ending up watching Trainwrecked which was so bad, but the date was really lovely and 7 years later we are still together and getting married. So I OWE A HUGE thank you to my bestfriend who is also one of my bridesmaids for forcing me to download tinder, otherwise I would have never met my bestfriend and the love of my life.

When and where did you get engaged?

Adam said that he had organised to propose in Hamilton Island of July 2021, but unfortunately Sydney was in a really big lockdown, so those plans were put on hold.

He ended up proposing the day after we got out of lockdown which also happened to be my 25th Birthday. So it was definitely a birthday I will never forget, and my favorite birthday so far.

He took me out to dinner at a restaurant, and as he went to pay the bill he pulled the ring out of his pocket. It was such a beautiful night. I don’t even remember him paying the bill, as I was just so wrapped up in the moment.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

Adams Heritage is Italian, and we wanted to incorporate a lot of that into the wedding, so we have gone with a Tuscan olive theme, so lots of olive, beige colors and some Chandeliers for additional Sparkle.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Ellen: I am most looking forward to seeing Adam at the alter and saying our vows to each other in front of our family and friends, and I am most excited for our first dance, as we have orgainsed a surprise first dance. We are going to do a slow first dance into Grease, Your the one that I want. So very excited for out guest reaction to this.

Adam: There isn’t anything I am not excited about, but if there was one main items, it would be the moment Ellen and I kiss in the chapel and then hold hands and cheer to the fact we are officially married.

Top Tips!

Book a lot of things in advance. When you book your venue location book everything else. Or just get Married at the stones as they know exactly what there doing and it took a lot of stress of us, and we actually ended up enjoying the wedding planning process because of this. Also just book Rick too as he makes you feel so comfortable and relax, and is very organised.
