Stones of the Yarra Valley Wedding of Jessica and Richard

Tell me about the beginning!

We met after high school at a friends birthday party back when we were 19 (so about 15 years ago now). We had been at the same school but never once talked to each other. Richard and Ryan D (groomsman) had an eskie full of vodka cruisers and that was of course the perfect magnet for girls so we asked for some drinks. We then met again at our friend Bens (bestman) birthday party were we all decides to walk up the road to the oval and after holding hands Richard asked me out. Our first date was to a thai restaurant and then off to the movies to watch slumdog millionaire (very good choice by richard). Since then we have gone through many ups and downs time together and apart but all roads have lead us here to be here getting married today.

When and where did you get engaged?

After a long night/day out at Revs richard came over where we talked about moving back into together and getting married. Given the time he had been out for I wasn’t sure how seriously I should take him but the next weekend Richard had booked a fancy lunch at a japanese restaurant Komeyui (knowing my love for all things Japanese) and then surprised me with an appointment at a jewellers to pick out a ring from the australian diamond company.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

A classic white and green colour pallet with some pops of yellow. Our words to describe the day are whimsical, fun and stylish.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Walking down the aisle with my dad, us reading our vows to each other, cutting the cake together and partying it up with everyone at the reception after our first dance.

Top Tips!

Don’t think you can do it alone because organising a wedding is a full time job.
