Olinda Yarra Estate Wedding of Vanessa and Zac

Tell me about your The Beginning!
We met on good old Tinder… back when it wasn’t so much of a cess-pit, we promise. Ness was actually off to Europe for a few months, leaving shortly after we first met. We dated for two months before parting ways. Ness returned to Melbourne about four months later, we went on another date, and the spark was still there.

When and where did you get engaged?
We were living in London and we’d just gone into another lockdown, it was the middle of winter, the sun was setting each day at about 3.30pm… it was a bit of a grim time. One of the only spots open during this period was Borough Market, which was a two hour walk each way from our house, but we figured we had nothing better to do. On the way, we stopped at St Dunstan in the East, an incredible church from 1300s that was bombed during WW2, then afterwards turned into a community garden – so it’s this gorgeous lush greenery amongst these ruins. It’s one of Ness’s favourite London spots, and Zac suggested we break up the walk with a stop there, and popped the question.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
Laidback, fun, unpretentious, a little rustic, classic – we’re covering a lot of bases to be honest.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Hearing each other’s vows, being with our beautiful friends and family, having a boogie.

Top Tips!
Ness: Remember it doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful. Things will inevitably go wrong but keep perspective – you are going to be surrounded by the most important people in your life marrying the person you love, what a privilege and what a beautiful thing!
Zac: Get in early with booking your venue, celebrant, photographer and other key suppliers, so you can ensure you get some of the best people in your corner.
