Tell me about the beginning!
We met at work – both of us were starting our first day in our first big boy accounting jobs launching our careers and had induction together. We both took notice of each other, Brent with more nefarious intentions than Danielle. The first date didn’t happen until many months later once Danielle was out of a relationship and was at a hole in the wall dumpling house in Chinatown – Danielle’s first time ever eating dumplings (we now still regularly enjoy a dumpling date). It was a modern love story that involved a bit of cat and mouse and took us both a couple of years to get our shit together to lock it down and make it official but once we did the rest is history.
When and where did you get engaged?
We got engaged on 4 September 2022 in Daylesford. Brent organised an overnight stay at a lovely little cottage. After a morning having massages we grabbed lunch and he had originally planned to go for a walk around the lake and propose there – however the weather had other plans and the rain drove us to a busy little wine bar while we waited to check in to our accommodation. As we were leaving Brent bought an expensive bottle of champagne which Danielle found a little suspicious but fortunately didn’t blow his rouse. When we arrived at the cottage, Danielle came out of the bathroom with her pants undone, preparing to get into the bath after being covered in residual massage oils and rained on however Brent asked her to do her pants up – for the first time ever… He then caught her by surprise while she was looking through a cupboard and turned around to find him on one knee.
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
Autumn – we decided to embrace the changing colours outside.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Brent – Seeing Danielle walk down the aisle
Danielle – Seeing Brent at the top of the aisle
Both – The espresso martini tower in lieu of the cake
Top Tips!
Don’t underestimate how much work wedding planning entails! If you both have full time jobs or children prepare to have a whole additional full time job in wedding planning. If I could go back in time we’d definitely invest in a wedding planner.
