Stones of the Yarra Valley Wedding of Nicole and Tom

Tell me about your The Beginning!
Tom & I met at work. We were working at an old english style country pub.
I’d been working there for about a year as a waitress when Tom started. He was an apprentice chef.
Over the first few months he was working there we got to know each other, then it went from there.

When and where did you get engaged?
Tom and I were on a trip to Tokyo. When we were leaving I went to pack something into Toms backpack and he became very defensive which I found really strange. Then a few days in we had “MarioKarts” around Tokyo booked. I am a very nervous person so I immediately bumped the car in front of me, started crying and decided to sit that one out. I offered to take toms stuff so he didn’t have to carry it with him but he was very firm that he did not need me to.
After that, it was dinner time and we were walking around the streets of Tokyo trying to figure out what to have for dinner. Tom stopped at a very high end restaurant and said he thought we should have dinner there. Me, being oblivious said no way, it looked way too expensive and was happy to settle for something simple.

The next night we went out to the “Robot Restaurant” in Shinjuku. It was so strange, but we had the best time.
When we got back, I started getting ready for bed. When I finished cleaning my teeth Tom came up to me and said, “I picked up something for you!” and then asked me to marry him. After all of the stressing to find the perfect moment, this was perfect. It was very me (If you know me you will know my happiest time is being at home in my pyjamas haha)

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
I have gone for neutral, native flowers. Nothing with a lot of colour. Simple, But Elegant.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?
I am so looking forward to seeing everyone and having them all together on the day. I feel like this is the best way to welcome everyone back to reality after a really tough 2 years.

Top Tips!
Try not to stress much. This was our 3rd date due to covid and we just went with “it will be okay. If we have 10 people, it will be OK. if we have to postpone again, it will be OK” and honestly, we have been so calm and collected the whole time.
