Stones of the Yarra Valley Wedding of Sophie and Nick

Tell me about your The Beginning!

Sophie’s friend was heading back to the UK and wanted to go to a mutual friends AFL Grand Final party before she left. Because of a mix-up with times, she actually missed her flight, but stayed at the party.

Here Nick introduced himself to Sophie and her friends, and they hit it off immediately.

Sophie remembers talking to Nick, and learning all about his job in the environmental field, and Nick remembers Sophie for her freckles. Sophie would later be known as the ‘girl with the freckles’.

We had our first proper date at Anada in Fitzroy. We were both super nervous, but relaxed as soon as we got to the restaurant.

It’s been over 7 years, with many visa’s ticked off, getting our gorgeous dog Ziggy and a cute house and here we are getting hitched!

When and where did you get engaged?

We got engaged in one of the brief periods between Pandemic lockdowns, when we were able to travel a bit further afield.

Nick planned for a day hike to Seven Acre Rock in Gembrook.

Nick was sweating bullets, and running around to make everything perfect, with Sophie oblivious.

It was perfect weather, and we celebrated our engagement with some champagne, and dinner at a local Italian Restaurant.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

We have chosen a fairly rustic decor, with earth tones, and rusty burnt orange themes. Flowers will be focussed on eucalypt foliage and natives.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Having fun with friends and family. Celebrating our love. Good food, Good Drink and Terrible Dancing.

Top Tips!

Do whatever suits you, and what will make the day most enjoyable for yourself. Don’t worry what other people expect of your wedding. Get things done early, to avoid rushing, and a stressful lead-up.
