Stones of the Yarra Valley Wedding of Scott and Shannon

Tell me about The Beginning!
It was like a scene out of a movie, where our eyes first locked across a crowded room, back in 2011. He was tall, dark and handsome, and I couldn’t help but feel drawn to him. As the night went on, we found ourselves standing next to each other at the bar, laughing and talking as if we had known each other for years.

The chemistry between us was undeniable, and before I knew it, we were dancing together in the middle of the crowded bar. As the music played, I couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest person in the world, to have stumbled upon this enchanting stranger.

As the night rolled on, we found ourselves sneaking away to a quieter corner of the bar, where we could hear each other’s voices above the noise. We talked for hours. And in those moments, I knew that I had found something special.

From then on, we were inseparable. We explored the city together, trying new restaurants, and dancing the night away with our friends. With each passing day, our love grew stronger, as if fate had brought us together for a reason.

And now, years later, I can’t imagine my life without him. He is my rock, my best friend, my everything. And every time I look into his eyes, I can’t help but feel like the luckiest person in the world. For I know that we were meant to share this love story, forever and always.

When and where did you get engaged?
It’s hard to plan surprises for each other because we both share so much, so for Shannon’s birthday in 2023, Scott planned a “surprise birthday staycation” which was actually the proposal in disguise.

The week prior, Scott’s sister even flew down to Melbourne to help him buy the ring so it wouldn’t show up on their joint bank statement!

After the “birthday dinner”, we went back to the hotel room where the staff had prepared rose petals and champagne, and when we walked into the room, Scott got down on one knee and proposed. After saying yes, Shan then reached into his bag and presented another ring – he’d been planning on proposing too, but was told to wait by his sister as she knew about Scott’s plans!
