Tell me about The Beginning!
We met the very 2020s way – on Hinge. Our first date was at Garden State Hotel, and from the second we sat down, it felt like we’d known each other for ages. We bonded over travel dreams, shared humour, and the fact we’re both secretly competitive at almost everything.
A couple more dates in and we realised this wasn’t just a swipe-right situation – this was the start of something pretty incredible.
When and where did you get engaged?
June 2024, hiking in the Italian Dolomites. A private moment by a lake surrounded by mountains – just the two of us (finally escaping a very enthusiastic American backpacker). Michael set up his tripod for a “photo,” then dropped to one knee. Em was completely surprised, wearing an oversized jumper and the biggest smile.
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
A timeless European winery feel – but with a relaxed, modern edge. Soft sage, blush and neutral tones, black tie optional, beautiful food and wine, and a setting that doesn’t need to try too hard. We want it to feel elegant but effortless – like the kind of party people talk about for years… in the best way.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
That moment we look around and realise all of our favourite people are in one place – cheering us on as we start this next chapter. Pure joy. Pure chaos. Pure love.
