Immerse Winery Wedding of Caite and Josh

Tell me about your The Beginning!
Josh and I have known each other for years, starting off as friends getting to know each other slowly, as we watched our two best friends start dating. After false first impressions, we really broke down each other’s exterior layers and got to know each other on a deeper level. After making, what Josh describes as a very obvious first move, he asked me out, where we went on our first date to a restaurant called Bangkok Terrace in Hawthorn East. I should have probably put a disclaimer on the date, as I entered the restaurant with a white t-shirt and exited with half the kitchen’s food on it! Although I was deeply embarrassed (and also a deep shade of red), Josh says this was the first time he realised what a catch I was. And as you can imagine, fast forward 8 years later, the rest is history.

When and where did you get engaged?
We got engaged on 28th December 2020 at Sorrento back beach, after 7 years of dating. Josh proposed to me in a secluded cove of the beach where I was admiring the beautiful landscape while climbing on some rocks over the water. As I turned around, Josh was on one knee with a ring box out. It is safe to say, I have no idea what he said, as I lost all train of thought and just stared at the open box. I still haven’t replied to his question with a “yes” but hey, answers are pretty overrated aren’t they!

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
We chose a relaxed and casual wedding style, as we really wanted to emanate our personalities and really celebrate us as a couple. We wanted our wedding to be fun, laidback, energetic and simply a day that we could celebrate our love with our closest friends and family.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?
With everything that has happened in the world over the last few years, we are looking forward to being able to celebrate, laugh and dance with our people! We feel very fortunate to be able to share our love story with those closest to us, and it means the world to us to see them happy, healthy and together in one place!

Top Tips!
This will sound like a broken record, but truly this day is about you and your partner. Don’t sweat the small details, the things that don’t work your way, or having the perfect day. Make sure to live in the moment and have fun, as the day will go by very quickly! Oh and yes you really, really do need those dancing lessons you were contemplating. You’ll thank me later.
