Immerse in the Yarra Valley Wedding of Catherine and Daniel

Tell me about your The Beginning!
We met in the doctors write up room in the Casey Hospital theatre. Dan was sitting at a computer that Cat needed. We started chatting and then we would see each other randomly over the next couple of weeks in theatre between our cases and chat. Cat found Dan’s last name on the operating theatre list and added him on Facebook.
Our first date was on a Sunday night at Talk to Me Bar, Dan was actually on call for the hospital but got a mate to cover him for a few hours during our date. We drank, chatted and listened to live music. We had our first kiss when Dan dropped Cat home.

When and where did you get engaged?
We got engaged this year Easter Sunday in Lamington National Park. We had gone up to the Gold Coast to stay with Dan’s parents for the Easter long weekend. Cat had only met them once before this due to the lockdown. Dan insisted we go to Lamingtion National Park for the night even though the weather was awful, raining and low clouds meant we couldn’t see much. Cat didn’t know he had ulterior motives for going. Dan convinced Cat to go out for a walk in the rain. We walked to the top of a waterfall and Dan proposed!

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
No theme, just pure celebration that we won’t be in lockdown anymore!!! (possibly also celebrating our love at the same time)

What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Being able to see and catch up with all our friends and family in person after such a long time apart.
Unfortunately we still have a lot of interstate and international friends and family unable to be there bc of restriction (Dan’s brother in QLD and Cat’s brother in Canada)

Don’t sweat the small stuff, focus on what’s important to you and what will be remembered on the day.
Be flexible with your ‘dream day’, not everything may go as you’ve always dreamed but at the end of the day if you’re with the person you love surrounded by friend and family that’s all that matters.
