Tell me about the beginning!
We met on the 17th of August 2013 when Sally was 20 and James was 21. We were on the dance floor of Seven Nightclub. James walked across the dance floor to where Sally was dancing and we started dancing together. We’ve been together ever since. Sally later discovered that James was walking towards his friend who was standing next to Sally and kissing Sally’s friend, but then James got sidetracked when he saw Sally.
When and where did you get engaged?
James proposed during our holiday in Fiji. It was our last holiday together before Sally moved to the UK to start a PhD and we would spend 12-months apart before James also moved to the UK. James booked a private table overlooking the ocean at sunset at the nicest restaurant in the resort we were staying at in Fiji. He had to hide the ring in his underwear because Sally had been known to pat down his pockets to see if he was hiding a ring box (we had been together for almost 10-years by that point!). James took out the ring and caught Sally by surprise, who said yes before James had time to say anything he had prepared. It was a lovely and funny moment.
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
Clean and elegant, white flowers (not over the top), white table cloths, the dress code is black tie.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Getting married, our first dance, dancing with our friends.
Top Tips!
Don’t rush things, give yourselves the time you need to plan and prepare without feeling stressed. We are getting married 20-months after getting engaged and have rarely felt stressed or overwhelmed by the planning process (although we also moved countries during this time, so you could probably organise a stress-free wedding in less time if not moving overseas).
