Riverstone Estate Wedding of Eszek and Eliza

Tell me about your The Beginning!

We first met at church when we were both still at Uni, however we were never in the same social circle. Fast forward 4 years and mix in a spontaneous road trip to the Dandenong Ranges with some good pies and we realised there could be something there. Our friendship was then a whirlwind of searching for foodie hot spots, hotel hopping and multiple car rides together which saw us officially dating 6 months later right before the first lockdown. Eliza didn’t even know I officially liked her till that 6 months mark – what a surprise for her. Enduring 6 lockdowns together further strengthened the fact that there’s no one else we’d rather spend a lockdown with than together.

When and where did you get engaged?

I’ve had the ring since August 2021 after a few months of painstaking secret ring research. However, it was during the 6th lockdown where I was waiting for the lockdown to be over to propose but the lockdown was extended…again. One of my mates got engaged during the lockdown which made me realized that I needed to propose ASAP and I shouldn’t let the lockdown or Covid stop me.

I sprung into action and planned to decorate my backyard with the help from my family. I hung up the words “Marry Me?” on the wall, placed some rose petals on the grass and got down on one knee. The action shocked Eliza so much she didn’t even look at the ring I was holding. It was definitely a moment to remember.

I proposed to her on 11th September 2021.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

Fun, natural, romantic vineyard wedding full of neutrals and Autumn colours.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Celebrating our wedding day with all of our friends and loved ones. Getting awesome pictures. Eating great food and wine. And overall, just having a laid back and fun time while making great memories together.

Top Tips!

1. Plan, book in your vendors early, trust them and the process! This then gives you a bit of time to relax (as much as one can planning a wedding) from having everything locked in until the wedding day.

2. On the wedding day, just enjoy your moment and try not to overthink the small stuff. If we spent the whole time at the wedding worrying, we might not be present and enjoy our wedding day to the max. The day goes by so fast so you’ll definitely want to be in the moment!
