Mewburn Park Wedding of Amanda and Roy

Tell me about the beginning!

Roy and I meet through Roys twin Brother Avan and my cousin Jenna, we have known each other since we were just kids 14 and 15 years old. We would see each other in passing and always say hello. I had my first job at IGA when was 14 and Roy would come in to get a few things occasionally and greet me and ask me how I was going. I kept it short as I didn’t want to get in trouble at work but I definitely appreciated his friendliness. Anyways throughout the years growing up we had each other on social media and kept an eye on each others achievements over the years. We would see each other at events and the shops, life had a funny way of us running into each other. In between this our lives happened and eventually came together when I replied to Roys photo he sent me of his new playstation in 2020 to which I replied telling him he was crazy for lining up for (which was at the time I thought was strange as we never really messaged on socials). From there we didn’t stop talking and actually didn’t want to stop talking! Roy asked me to go on a drive with him to the Great Ocean Road for our first date to which I agreed on the condition I could bring my puppy Rollie- Roy agreed without hesitation. From that day forward we were inseparable and life genuinely hasn’t been the same since in the best way possible. We are still in awe and consider ourselves lucky that we have each other and have had the privilege of knowing each other since kids.

When and where did you get engaged?

Roy and I got engaged on the 17th of December 2022 at The Horn lookout Mount Buffalo- Absolutely stunning! I knew something was up as we had been saving like crazy to do thing on our house and Roy randomly booked a weekend away out of nowhere but told me it was a surprise where we were going. We had been speaking about how nice it would be to get married so I did find it a bit sus. Anyways, the weekend rolls around and Roy told me that we need to be up nice and early to make sure we catch the sun. By this point I was very suspicious and I told Roy I was going to wear my nice white dress as he told me it would be a nice spot for photos to which he replied “oh good idea, ill wear my white shirt I like”. We got there and it was truly breath taking the view I turn around and Roy is on one knee, what a dream. YES in a thousand lifetimes- YES. We spent the rest of our day and weekend in absolute awe of this chapter of our lives and reminiscing on all that had brought us to this moment.
