It’s not every day one of your best friends get married to someone who looks at them with as much love in their eyes as when Clay looks at Maylin.

I was so happy I insisted on being their photographer just to get a front row seat to their whole, beautiful day. Editing these photos, I got to once again ride the wave of emotions from laughter to tears as these two tied the knot in one of the most naturally beautiful locations on earth.

Their Secret Garden Byron Bay wedding was one of the most memorable of my life. When they sent out their save the dates, they didn’t know how many guests would make the trek up from Victoria but they were shocked when every…. single…. guest said they wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Who doesn’t love an out of state wedding? You can genuinely leave your life behind and devote yourself entirely to having an awesome time. We escaped from town to the Byron hinterland for some epic location shots at a majestic fig tree we had scouted the day before.

Clay’s mate Dan MacPherson did an awesome job of MC for the evening as the speeches went a bit further than just inciting a few tears.

I loved spending the rest of the night at the after party, talking Maylin’s mum’s ear off about what an amazing job she’s done with her three girls.
