54 Boundary Road, Coldstream Wedding of Emma and Joe

Tell me about your The Beginning!
We’re both primary teachers and were teaching at Canterbury Primary School when we met in 2015. We got to know each other in 2016 when Joe invited Emma to Harry Potter trivia. We never actually went to trivia but went for drinks instead and it was the best date ever!

When and where did you get engaged?
In our house in Clifton Hill, just us two and a delicious cheese platter and some wine. We were listening to the Can’t Hardly Wait cover by Justin Townes Earle on vinyl, which is our song. We’re both criers so were bawling! Afterwards we went out for dinner then called our friends and they met us at the pub to celebrate.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
Very family orientated, we are very close with our families. I’m not really sure of the style.. it’s quite a big wedding and we’re having a sit down dinner so I guess that makes it a little bit formal but the rest of it will be laid back, fun and big party!

What are you most looking forward to on the day?
We’ve chosen some important personal elements for our ceremony – Joe’s sister is our celebrant, our niece will do the acknowledgement of country and a few other things which will make it really special for us. We both love a party and a dance so we can’t wait for that too!

Top Tips!
Hmm we’re trying to be as organised as possible so the day is stress free and enjoyable for us! We don’t want to be organising stuff down to the last minute. Also, the way we see it is this is our opportunity to get up in front of all the people we care about and talk about how much we love each other so we don’t want to skip the important bits and we want to add small personal touches to make it really special.
